I havn't, let us know how it works. I had the Hoppes cold blue work pretty good but it does start to fade after a few years.

I tried it out 4 nights ago. Very dark black, no blue. Wear gloves, as bottle says as it does burn a little if in a cut, had a pinhole in 1 glove. When finished, washed off with warm water in shower. Finish is not bad, not very deep, scratches off easy. Going to clean barrel again on lathe and try again. Hopping for better results. It did a good job on the touch ups I did on the reciever & screws.

Did you try it on hot metal? it may work better. I have found that most cold blues work better on hot metal.

thanks george ill let you try again then ill go from there...got a very nice old cooey 60 but bluing is all gone

no magellan i have not tried it yet but i was thinking same thing

I just let the parts sit in very hot water for a minute or so to get them up to temp, then apply the solution.

Some blues work better on one alloy than others. I have at least four different Q&D (quick and dirty) blues on the shelf and if one doesn't work well I try another.
