Gun choices for USPSA, what's available in Canada

As the title states, what do we have availble to us?
Everything. Just mags limited to 10 rounds.

Glock, CZ, STI, SVI, Tanfoglio, Sig, Colt, Springfield, Grand Power, S&W and many more.

Sorry, your question is really general. Maybe is there a particular division you're thinking of?

I meant for Pistol Calibre carbine division and specifically on the AR platform

There's an outfit in Edmonton (can't recall their name but talked to the owner at the Easter gun show in Calgary) that will be producing one which will take Glock mags. They're just waiting for an FRT number before they start producing.

If you plan on also shooting it in the USA, be sure to get one with a 16" barrel.

I believe you're thinking of black lead industries.

Why a 16" for the USA?

Anything shorter is a "SBR" - "Short Barrel Rifle" and they won't give you a permit for import. (Form 6NIA)
Believe it or not, it's actually easier for a Canadian to get a 10" AR-15 than an American.

Ahh, makes sense

So longer is ok too?

I have an AR that I could buy another upper for in 5.56/223 in 16+ inches to get me going or I could use my X95 Tavor (I imagine its OK to use in 3 gun in the states?)

I have also taken a shine to the Robinson Arms competition version and it has the advantage of using 10 round mags, being non restricted is nice too not that its a major advantage for 3 Gun as the pistol will always be restricted anyhow

Anything 16 inches over is OK. Even 14.5 is OK if yo have a pinned and welded muzzle brake or flash suppressor that gets you to 16", but a 16" or longer is the safest bet for US. And also no Norincos.

However, it's worth noting that barrel in the states is defined differently than here. You can take a 10" barrel and weld a 6" brake on it and it's a 16" barrel to them.

That might be true but most disciplines have a max 3" comp/flash hider rule. So if someone followed your advice, they might be able to import their rifle/carbine but then wouldn't be able to use it in any competitions.

its fine for pistol caliber carbine, the guy that won the nationals literally just turned down a comp to fit inside of a pipe and welded them together then to a 10" barrel to make the 16"

Which 'nationals' are you referring to?
2017 USPSA optic nationals (they break theirs up because on numbers of shooters)

here is what his gun looks like
