Jeff.

In my opinion, Ellwood Epps is not a good place to shop. If you really know your stuff and don't need any sales help, then it is a fine retail location. If you want suggestions or advice from the staff, they will try their best to peddle absolute junk to you and lie about it. I had two staff try to sell me a browning O/U with a split stock filled with body filler, but both of the guys behind the counter went on and on about how the stock was "customized". I do not trust them worth a damn.

That's a new one .....sorry to learn that you came away with a not so positive impression. Personally, I have always considered Epps as one of the best gunshops in Ontario with Williams Arms following very close behind.

I find some of our "local" shops will try to push whatever they've got on the shelf instead of ordering what you want. "These Weaver and Millett rings are wayyy better than Burris or Leupold...."
