Gun for IPSC classic division

MY Turn. I shoot a 9mm, lost brass and cost, Para Expert and 100 dollar rebate cost 550 dollars. Flat face trigger gives a 2.5 pound trigger. Mag well, extended mag release, came with beaver tail and fiber optic front sight, good to go.
Will I be kicken butt? NO. But that is just me, In it for the challenge, this is just one of many gun games I play in a year.

Sean;

A question....it appears as if the slide has "lightening" cuts forward of the ejection port, and if so, would that not make it non-compliant in Classic Division as per Appendix D3 Rule 17 ? or are those cuts permitted under Appendix D3 Yule 18 ?

STI has - and Sean can confirm - addressed this issue. These are not "lightening" cuts, they are "gripping surfaces".

Like 1Riot1Ranger said, STI confirmed that their front stylized serrations are legal for IPSC Classic with the IPSC Executive long before they brought it to the SHOT Show and the Handgun Rules Committee Chairman has stated on the IPSC Global Village that the gun is good to go. I've handled the gun, a tritop has more meat off the slide than these do.

Ivan; I just like beautiful 1911s. ;) I missed the boat with the DVC Open and Limited; I've let all the customers get theirs first - but this one - man - this one I gotta have. <is there a drooling smilie?>

This one? :xes

Why wouldn't you be able to use a Rangemaster wth a full dust cover in classic ? I still can't understand this. Same controls as every other 1911. If anything, a standard 1911 would be faster by a tad without the extra dust cover weight. I just prefer my Rangemaster over my Trojan.

Full length dust covers are not legal, Max length is 75mm from front edge to back of slide stop pin. Follows USPSA rule and is considered the standard configuration for a 1911.

Hmmm: since you don't compete in Classic, it must be because you want it for the Classic Division prize table at the Nationals this summer. Good news indeed!

Sean just shot the Florida open in single stack and is considering shooting Nationals in Classic. He shot in 9mm too.

To the OP I shoot an STI Sentry in 9mm for classic. Love it.
