was just sitting here looking at some .45's and had a chuckle.

1 Norinco + 1 Norinco = 1 Ruger SR1911 (in price)

1 Ruger SR1911 + 1 Ruger SR1911 = 1 Kimber

so Norinco's are Nickles.
Rugers are Dimes.
Kimbers are Quarters.

suppose we could add Remington and STI entry levels in with the ruger.

i was just trying to explain to my wife how if i give up my 2 Norinco's 1911's i should be allowed to buy a Ruger SR1911.

gun math.

thankfully my wife has no idea how to tell my guns apart.
so even though i tell her ill clear a couple out... i wont.

like my M&P's.
i have 4 of them.
she cant tell them apart.
as long as i never have more then one out at a time she thinks they are all the same gun.

That is the best way of doing it :)

I've found that a good tactic is to make a big point of showing her all the fine details of your guns. She gets bored of it pretty quickly, and tunes me out. If I mention a new gun, she says "that's nice dear" and doesn't hear a word after that.

Of course, there's always the "What, that old gun? I've had that for years!" ploy. Very successful for those who have a fairly substantial collection - a new one is just another anonymous tree in the forest...as long as you can sneak it into the safe when she's not watching.

I'm not condoning this, of course.

*It's okay, she's not reading over my shoulder anymore...

yeah, I made that mistake years ago with my paintball guns... bought two identical ones and went different routes with their set ups... it wasn't until I was cleaning both at the same time and she walked in on me and freaked that there were two of the same.

Lesson learned and will not be repeated with the real guns... lol

You guys that don't have shooting wives have it tough .... Mine owns eight handguns, the last a Ruger SR9. She fully understands why I "need" another gun, identical to one I already have.
She has spent close to the cost of the SR9 on a range bag (pink/camo), clothes (black/pink), holster/mag pouches/UPlula (pink), running shoes (black/pink), caps (black/pink), etc. My instructions were to buy 9mm dies and bullets to reload once her supply of ball ammo is burned up - and leave her gun the hell alone!

Just for that, I told her I was going to buy a Ruger SR45 to go along with my 19911's. She never bat an eye .....

I can only wish!! My wife was an anti, did not want any guns around at all. We came to an agreement that i would only own so many (broken) and she and the girls would never see them (also broken). She now lets me take my girls shooting any time, wants me to go hunting and might come watch the girls shoot sometime. She would still freak if she knew how many I really do have.:runaway:;)

Mine shoots, she has her shotgun with 18" and 26" barrels and is good with that, 18 for when we're camping and 26 when she's at the trap range. She enjoys shooting mine but she wants to spend our money on other things... she's happy with one gun and one caliber... where as I have 12 different calibers with overlapping guns within those.

1 norc + clark or equiv barrel & bush + sear & hammer + smithy tuned frame & slide , + some reasonable sights = les baer or equiv . might be a bit ugly but $ per " of group can't be beat .

Well played sir.....

When I was in university I used to do Beer Math. Basically when I was considering making a purchase I would factor in how many beers I could buy instead. 9 times out of 10 the Beer won out.

Hopefully she does not read the CGN forums, if so, more than enough info....I mean Evidence!

I hate to break it to the OP but a dime + dime doesn't equal a quarter. :p I wish it did I'd pay everything in dimes haha.
By your math it would have to be 1 Ruger SR1911 + 1 Ruger SR1911 + 1 Norinco = Kimber

Surprised no one else picked that up.
