I've started to take an interest in my pellet guns again. They have not had any maintenance for quite a while. Can anyone tell me what kind of oil do you use for the seals. There is one in particular that I am concerned about. It's an old Crossman 22 cal. pump up with a Walnut stock. I put some light oil that is used for air tools on the leather washer, but it's not taking a charge. Another is a Daisy Powerline 853C like the Air Cadets use for target practice. I kinda remember them using 30 weight motor oil , but not for sure. I don't want to gum anything up

For pumps and co2 guns use pellgun oil (crosman) which I have read is just sae 30 oil. Dont use 10w30 or anything like that. I belive you can use neets foot oil for leather seals but to be on the safe side check canadian air gun forums, you will find tons of info there on lubes and air guns. PS if thats a crosman 140 or 1400 you have it has a rubber seal with a felt washer behind it. check to see if air comes out the barrel as you pump it, if it does it needs a new quad seal in the valve thats what happened to mine anyway.

X2 for neets foot oil on the leather seals. Replacements are easy to make, the trick is to use a lighter weight leather. Something about halfway between a chamois and a belt.
