Have your PAL handy, the make model and serial number ready.
Also have your credit card a the ready along with that silly three digit number on the back of your cc.
You know the one that is like very fine and the numbers are like size no.3 font.
They would be my first stop all the time and every time.

Western Gun Parts has changed significantly since Irv retired. I couldn’t say if they’ll even take an order from an end user anymore. When I last ordered from them, one needed to make an appointment to visit the store and you were advised in advance that they would accept only cash.
I live in Edmonton, so I can’t be sure whether the rules are now even more strict for remote customers. I wouldn’t be surprised if they would decline to supply to the retail market, or whether they might supply parts on a prepaid by EMT basis.
Irv had an extensive collection of used and/or obsolete parts. And, he knew where every one of them was stored in his warehouse. The new owners didn’t stand a chance of learning what and where all the stuff was stashed. Their business model now is to supply new parts and accessories to gun shops. They can waste hours on the phone with end users who don’t even know the name or part number of the part that they need, only to have the user want to return it because they ordered the wrong item. They also no longer want to pay credit card fees.
If they can see you are knowledgeable and can order the correct part, they may take your cash. But don’t count on it. Alternatively, they will be more than happy to deal with your local gunsmith/gun shop.
If anyone outside of Edmonton has ordered from them in the past 6 months, I think we all would benefit from hearing how that went down.
