Every once in a while you can actually get a deal at a gun show. I found a used 10 22 deluxe model at the saskatoon show this weekend for $250 taxes in. It's in about 90% condition with a few small stock dings and the anodizing worn away at the usual areas. I'm going to build this one into my super stock gopher rig. I already started sanding the black of the receiver and have started sanding the stock.

It's going to get the birchwood casey stock treatment and I'm going to polish all the showing aluminum to a semi gloss finish. Then I think it will get a good 3-9x40 to top it off. Someone tried to glass bed it and did a pretty sloppy job so I'll have to clean that up a bit too. I've always wanted a DSP and I was more than happy to shell out 250 for it. I never took before pics but I'll be sure to post some after ones. Now its off to the EE to find a stainless sports barrel.

Granted yours probably hasnt been to the bottom of the Pacific but thats pretty much how mine was done. Post up some pics when shes done
 
Deluxe models don't have the barrel band and have a rubber but-pad.

I just don't like the matte finish on them, but it sounds like you're upgrading.

supernova, it will look very similar to yours but my dsp's walnut will be quite a bit darker than that birch. Should make for a nice contrast. Also I can't decide if I should scope it or just get tech sights. I already have a heavy barrel with a large scope for off the bench.
