An online friend of mine found some gun stocks in a neighbours shed and was allowed to take them. Now he's wondering if anyone has any information on them or wondering if they have any value.

Saw cut stocks

What your buddy found look to be the rear portion of some stocks that have been cut in half.
The top one is an M1 Carbine, a WWII US Army jobby, there are two more. The others, I have no idea, but they are missing the front half also.

They would make good cribbage boards, but that's about it.

The butt plates with screws would be useful to somebody. No doubt that they would sell in he put them on FleaBay.

Hello everyone,

I am the one that found the stocks.

Well since i have alot of the sawed stocks anyone have any ideas to do with them except burn them?

ok well i might make a buck making cribbage boards out of them, kinda of a good idea if sold of fleabay,(i mean if you paint a tin can red, someone will buy it...) does anyone have any m1/m2 carbine bullets out there that they might be able to get to me for free?

There is a market for them, but it isn't huge, infact its pretty small.

These are a loss financially, they cost far more to make than then you could sell them for. I only make them for fellow gunnuts and people I know.

That said, if you want to sell a few of the stocks, let me know, I would be happy to get a few.

My eyes My eyes

:D

Sad to see those M1 stocks cut like that, I suspect that Clave has hit the nail on the head and that the recievers were cut with the stocks on. :(

"...except burn them..." Geezuz, no. They're useless and worthless as stocks, but ideal for anybody wanting to learn/practice stock checkering.
"...paint a tin can red..." That'd be a rare CF SSF issue red tin can too.

i found 3 more stocks. Are they sawed off too?

YEa too bad. Not to want to stick the knife into myself any more, but CFD, do they have any stampings on the flat sides of the butts? armoury marks, inspector initials, crossed cannons?
