Gun Store applied me for LTATT with a purchase. Legit?

Hi there,

I went to the gun store and got a special order of P30L, but the guy behind the counter asked if I had a LTATT yet, I replied "No I haven't applied yet because I don't own any restricted firearms". So he said that he can do that right there with a purchase of P30L. I gave him a membership of a gun range I got recently, then he gave me all the documents (copies) and said that the wait time is 4 weeks.

My question is, will I get LTATT by mail before P30L arrives to their store?
I am a bit confused, what do I do now? Do I send those copies by myself or just sit tight and wait until something shows up?

You misunderstood or he mis-stated. What he was referring to was a STATT which would be required for you to take your gun home because you don't have an LTATT.

In the end, you'll be able to pick up your new toy shortly.

In Ontario they will get you a STATT for 30 days when you purchase a restricted firearm.

I've seen this done in BC, simply tape membership card from range to LTATT application, fax and wait. Gun store seemed happy to do this?

My local stores make it seem like they are doing all this extra work by initiating a transfer.

I ask if they would get my LTATT also. Very promptly I was told "no".

If you could state where you at .......we all could learn something.
Where we are, the range will do that for you, after you get your restricted course from them. I know where you all go is not like that but the CFO was firm about this being the “way” to do it. This is if we still are into LATT talk. Short therms are a different show all together and last time i had one was good for 72 hours only.
