gun transfer

Get a Membership at PoCo and Jon will help you fill in the ATT forms.

To transfer a gun you don't need to do anything if you are they buyer... are you the buyer? It's up to the seller to initiate the transaction (the transfer).

how long will the ATT last for ? 1 year ? then have to be renew, right ??? yes I am the buyer, but the gun I bought from NL,the seller said he would give reference no then I have to call CFC myself to do something and then call seller again tell him something.......... OH.. so confused LOL,thanks guy

Follow the prompts on the 1-800-731-4000 number for your long term ATT. Here in B.C. your long term ATT will be valid for as long as your PAL is. You need to renew it when you renew your PAL.

anyone can tell me how can I do for gun transfer ? how about ATT from my house to range, I am living in vancouver b.c, thanks!!!

If you took the 'restricted' course or challenge then you outta know the answers to these questions already...

Transfer procedure for restricteds:
1) Seller calls CFC (1-800-731-4000) initiates transfer which includes giving your name and PAL number and the registration # of the gun you are buying. The CFC gives him a reference number which he gives to you.

2) You call the CFC and go through the menu for completeing a transfer. When you get the person you give them the Reference number. They'll ask you a bunch of questions to verify that you are you. Things like place of place/date of birth, full address, name, PAL#, make/model of gun you are buying, purpose for buying (the two possible answers are: target shooting or collecting, and since you aren't a collector you must be target shooter), they'll also ask the name of the club you belong to since you're a target shooter.

Once all the questions are complete then they'll pass it along to the provincial CFO for approval. An ATT for the transfer will be issued by the CFO automatically. Since the seller is in NFLD thats not a big deal because odds are its going to get shipped to you.

Once thats done you let the seller know. If you want to be sure things are going smoothly you can wait about a week and then call the CFC again use the reference number and check on the status of the transfer. Usually I get told that its complete and the CFO is in the process of sending out the documents. THis check is worth doing because sometimes a transfer gets lost or misplaced. I had one take a month because I didn't follow up and someone had forgotten to transfer the file to the next department.

Anyways once you've gotten confirmation then you can call the seller and let them know. Some guys put the stuff in the mail (Expresspost, insured, signature required) as soon as they know its good. Some prefer to wait until they actually have the papers in hand.

Sit wait for seller to provide tracking number for Expresspost package. Sit wait some more for package to arrive. When it does, quickly rush to pick it up. :)

Rush home (don't speed now) carefully unwrap and caress your new baby. Clean, inspect, coddle it...

Buy ammo for it if you don't already have some. Once you have the club ATT then take it there and try it out!

Enjoy!

OH...buddy you really help me a lot, you make it very clear, thanks again!!!
