Guncoat - Good, bad or ugly?

I've got a remington 5R on the way, and I am thinking about having the SS barrel refinished in black. I'm looking for someone to do this for me.

Striker, you look like you have a professional setup there... Interested? :D
 
I've never used GunKote on a gun, yet. However I have used it on quite a few motorcycle engines. It resulted in measureably cooler oil temps in the air cooled motors.
Also, where something aluminum rubbed against the GunKote finish, no damage to the finish happened; but something steel rubbing will eventually wear through the finish.
It is darn good stuff.
This spring I'll be experimenting with KG GearKote on moving firearms parts.
 
I ordered mine directly from KG a couple of years ago. I think that since then there has been increased shipping restrictions. You can still order it from them, but it will cost you about $40 in shipping.

I did order some KG 2 Copper Remover from burkesgunoil dot com, maybe they can get other KG products too?
