Guncraft barrel

Only Guncraft I can remember was a store in north east Calgary at one time, but I don't think they were into barrels and such. Could be wrong though. ;)

Grizz

That is the only Guncraft I'm aware of too, but they did gunsmithing there and Dennis Sorensen (Guntech, here on CGN) was their gunsmith. Chances are he did the work and it is likely a very good barrel. No new barrel I've ever installed had any markings from the manufacturer on it, except cal and twist stamped on the breech end.

Guncraft was started by Gunther Kautsky and Pete Rumsey in Calgary in the early 70's. Eddie Mech did most of their stock work in Calgary and became very good at it. They had a fellow doing engraving but he didn't hang around... They opened a few other stores with the same name... Art Bourne and Bob Hobbs had the store in Kamloops. I don't know who had the other stores. I believe they are all closed up now... I worked with Gunther in the late 60's at Uptown Sporting Goods in Calgary and at Barotto Sports until he left to open up Guncraft.

In 86 it could have been Bill Leeper or Gary Valla that did the work. I was gone from there in 82
I agree with Dennis, how it shoots is far more important than who made the barrel back then.
In my time there we used Douglas, Shilen, Hart and Schneider barrels
