I watched a re-run of Guns & Ammo Television on WildTV the other night and in this episode, David Fortier and Gary James were testing their "unissued" all matching 1951 Tula SKS with laminate stock!

My understanding is that original 1951 Tula SKS were never issued with laminate stocks. Only a few in late, late 1954/55. Almost all other SKS sporting laminates then are refurbs and both G&A hosts either don't know very much about SKS history and relied on erroneous info or they were shoveling BS.

...or am I wrong?:redface::p Com-block guns were never my greatest strength, but I'm slowly getting into them.:) Curttom, you want to jump in here???;):D

my pet peeves on GB

you are absolute correct except with a minor mistake below , its 1955/56 , not 1954/55 .

funny , i was on gunbroker.com yesterday and i was amazed how often those sellers are using the word "unissued" to pump up their prices . the misinformation begins at the sellers level and the buyers in wanting a "unissued" will believe what ever they are told.

this one states " sold to me as a new unissued " and in turn misinforms the buyer.
this 54 has a lam stock and black carrier.

this 51 bought as "unissued, unfired " but with ###### on the butt .

this "unissued" has a black bayo.

Old horse trading, car-selling, and now gun-selling technique. Tell the buyers what they wanna hear.:( Used to be realtors were the same, then the government stepped in to protect buyers...works, for the most part.
