Gunshops in Phoenix

Hi all ..... I'm going to be in Phoenix, Arizona, later this month, and would like to visit a couple of good sporting goods stores / gun shops. Anybody had any personal dealings in Phoenix (good or bad) that they would care to share?

If you're into reloading at all, pay Dillon a visit; they've got a nice storefront with all of the stuff you see in the Blue Press (holsters, DVDs, etc.) along with all of their machines set up.
 
Dillon is located in Scottsdale.

Last time I visited Phoenix I went to many stores that were in the phonebook but not many were that impressive.

Shootersworld used to be great, at least in the early 90s, when I was last there in 98 it had gone downhill badly. I dont even know if it still exists.

Glockmeister has a storefront if your a Glockfan, but I have never visited.

Usually I timed my visits to attend the big gunshow at the state fairgrounds, lots and lots of eye candy there :)
 
Well if you are going to be in PHX, Scottsdale and Mesa, Tempe are all only 20 min away using the ring road. To have your eyes opened wide, u should pop into the Scottsdale Gun Club. Pretty impressive facility and the product selection is amazing.:eek: They will let u rent and shoot and they have numerous full autos for you to drool over if so inclined. U can visit their website online and have a gander. WalMart Super Center and a huge shopping center is just across the street if the Mrs wants to do her own thing. Another bonus is that Dillon is only about 10min away from there. Altho Galco is also only about 20min away, it is a secured facility and not open to the public, nor do they have a storefront. The Arizona Sportsman used to have about 4 locations with good selections but I think they only have 1 location remaining in Mesa. Also in Mesa is a place called The Pistol Parlour which has a pretty good selection of goodies to drool over. There are numerous smaller shops but very limited inventories.
Best to hit the Yellow Pages but be sure its a fairly current issue, as they have seen a bunch of closures in the past 2-3yrs.

It's grown into one big city, like Vancouver is to Richmond; it was a 10-minute cab ride when I visited the Small Arms Review Class 3 show last year.
 
Ya no kidding. The addition of the ring road (#101) has made short work of getting around. It was only 10yrs ago that the airport was a real hike from Scottsdale, now its only 20min... Wish our cities were that smart...

U may have to Google for the info as there have been a bunch of changes down there with closures. In addition to above, I know of 2 more shops in Glendale (west side of PHX), with one being a LEO supply, range, retail operation. Name escapes me at present but if I recall I will advise(Shooters World!). Other is a smaller mom & pop retail business with good pricing. Too bad u cant buy anything and bring it back...:mad:
