Gunsmith suggestions GTA

Contact the good folks at Tactical Ordnance up in Newmarket/Bradford border. A stone's throw from your neck of the woods. I had him fit thread my Mossberg shotgun and he did a amazing job.

Edit: My bad, dunno why I was thinking Aurora.

Casey at Tactical Ordnance is the best. You will get amazing work at a very very reasonable price.

to be clear haven't had my project done yet. But I contacted Casey with the details, He responded promptly and the rate was excellent for the job. Both turn around and cost were very reasonable. I've had work done by others and had good turn around but get hammered on the rate.

Can anyone suggest gunsmith in the GTA who would be able to open up fixed full chokes on an over under Beretta and make them improved cyl/skeet. I'm looking for economical and a quick turnaround. I am in Vaughan, and I have already talked to Precision Arms, looking for others.

TACORD is an excellent establishment and Casey responds to queries promptly. However, his specialty is tactical firearms - check with him although I suspect he may not agree to work on a double gun given the nature of the task.

Moreover, if the barrels are chrome lined (very likely) then it may not be feasible to get those reamed out at an economical rate. Besides, there is usually a long wait period as far as the few competent gunsmiths who work on double guns in and around the GTA are concerned.

You may also wish to check with SC Gunworks dot ca but will likely obtain a similar response as Precision Arms .....

It's harder to do doubles as you can't just put in in a standerd lathe 3 jaw chuck, you need a minimum four jaw chuck and a lot of time with a plug gauge and dial indicator and proper reamers, unless you hand ream it.

Someone will do it just going to be tricky

Cheers

There are only a few guys in the general area I would trust with any of my double guns. Stelios at SG Gunworks, now in Keswick (moved from Markham), Precision Arms, who you have already seen and Eddie von Atzigen in Peterborough.

Surest way to mess up a double is to have it worked on by a smith who doesn't specialize in doubles.

Eddie will be fastest and likely the least expensive. But he's very good.
