Gunsmith tools

Yes I’ve been looking at the wheeler sets, looks like I have to get the tourque driver separately. I also heard that Vortex makes a nice driver but not sure of the drive size. Like most things it’s hard to find the kit that does it all. It will be mostly used on pre 64 Winchester M70’s,M12’s,one Japanese Mark V Weatherby, and Leupold mounts.

I would prefer quality screwdrivers over a torque wrench... a torque wrench is a luxury item, about the last thing a smith really "needs".

A torque driver is one of those things that is nice for when starting out or where one only does such work occasionally. But for those that use these tools and do lots of this sort of work they soon develop a pretty good feel for how tight to torque small screws. The Wheeler kit is fantastic. And if you get the bigger 90 something piece kit it has some duplicates of the more commonly used sizes which can be dressed to slightly narrower to fit specific guns you frequently work on. And that's a rather handy thing.
