Gunsmithing Fees

Just passed my PAL. My father has several guns that havn't been fired for years. Before I put a round in the chambers I want to have them checked out. What is/are the rates for a gunsmith? They look to my eye to be in good condition (stored in cases in a dry area) other than they are older. A Winchester 1894 man. in 1913 -SMLE .303 No4Mk1/2 - springfield 87A(.22) and a couple of shotguns. Any educated guesses???:

at epps it would likely be starting at $30 per gun. (base shop charge). check thier website.

Well, unless you've had rats nesting in them, if they worked when they were put away, they'll work now. Ask your father when they were fired last, who fired them, and whether there were any problems, and proceed on that info. - dan

Lube the actions & run a brush down the bore & go shootin'.
