I figured some of you here would enjoy this. While on my summer bike trip, my journey took me through Cody Wyoming, the hometown of Gunwerks. I walked in off the street and checked out their showroom and was granted a tour of their facility (forgive me, I can’t remember the gentleman’s name who gave me the tour, but he was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions) To say it was impressive would be an understatement. EVERYTHING is built in house. The stocks, barrels, actions, suppressors etc etc. Their reloading room was what dreams are made of, and every shell is hand loaded, exactly how we would load our own shells, no automation whatsoever. Talk about tedious work when you’re a company of that size.

Their barrels are bored, and carbon wrapped (or contoured if you want just steel) in house, they don’t source anything out other than their raw material (steel, titanium and carbon fibre sheets) and their grade of precision was next level. I can’t speak to their triggers as I didn’t ask but i’m under the assumption their also made in house unless your rifle is a 700 foot print and want something specific. And he gave me a few hints of something that’s coming down the line but couldn’t tell me exactly what yet. Just said expect an announcement soon.

Although I couldn’t take pictures of their manufacturing process inside, the staff were AMAZING, and very friendly and their facility was next level. If you’re ever in that neck of the woods, I highly recommend stopping in for a little tour, you definitely won’t regret it.

I also now understand why their rifles are so expensive, I still can’t justify the cost of one, but I do understand and someday if I’m ever in the place to scoop one up, I wouldn’t think twice. And when I was telling about our prices up here for everything from powder to rifles, he almost s**t himself, even more so when I showed him what a new Savage Axis is worth up here.
