Looking for some structured training and coaching to get the most out of my ar and pistols in the GVRD. Tactical/3-gun/CQB oriented sort of thing, with a look to building skills on the right basics. I'm a newby to the ar, so some sort of ar clinic like the m14 clinics would be good too. I know you can learn everything on the internet, but a course or two would be a good place to start.

Anyone have any recommendations, ideas or tips?

Thanks

Jason is great, I've done most of his courses. Very professional and good guy. Long and reputable background. He does 3 gun training as well if that's what your looking for. Tell him John sent you. :)

Also done courses with them. They do a new AR course now but its .22lr AR's only. Manipulations are the same and its indoors at the justice institute of BC. Also good guys and good courses.

Thanks John!

I did my RPAL and basic handgun with silvercore, but I would rather do carbine with a real 223 ar, so they are out for that. I found that their course were a little long on talk and light on live fire for my taste, at least the basic handgun one.

I also see OSSC from a web search (ht tp://vancouvertacticalshootingcourse.com ), does anyone have experience with them, or can offer a review?

While not in GVRD I would highly recommend checking out Abbotsford Tactical Shooters http://abbotsfordfishandgameclub.org/author/afgc_ats/

They bring in trainers as well as have monthly training.

Rob Engh's Skills and Drills for pistol training. http://activeshooter.ca/ Also out at Abby.

Thompson Mountain has Tac Matches http://www.tacmatch.com/ Where you can try using ARs as they should be used.

Phase Line Green http://www.phaselinegreentactical.ca/2014-course-dates.php comes out to Abby and Victoria for some courses.
