Would like input from anyone who has used H-335 in .223 Rem, particularly with 55 grain bullets. Real experience only, no opinions or theoretical input please.

H-335 is available and much cheaper than Benchmark and H4895, both which are very hard to come by and pricey as heck if you do find them. H-335 burn rate is one step below Benchmark so these are the reasons I am considering it. Looking for near max.load out of a 24" Varmint gun. Have a huge supply of Hornady 55s on hand.

I load 25.0 gr H335 behind the Hornady 55gr SP Varmint, it's very accurate and runs right on 3100 FPS out of my CZ 527, I have the last 200 loaded now and am switching over to the 53gr Vmax as I was just using up a supply of the 55gr that I had kicking around.

What kind of accuracy do you get with those 55s and do you find 25.0 is the max?

I have never been able to get the same accuracy out of he 55gr SP that I get out of the 52gr HPBT, however the 55gr SP will shoot under 1" 5 shot groups at 100 yards. 25.0gr of H335 is very close to the max in my CZ.

I have always used 26.5gr in my .223 loads with 55 grain. Very good round for my 200 yard work so far. I purchased a cooper rifle about 2 years ago in .223 and they use h335 for all their test rounds and accuracy examples that come with each rifle. I loaded up their same load for my rifle and it was bullet in top of bullet at 100 mr. It’s a proven great powder

I am trying to load some 50 and 52 gr Speer as well as some 53 gr Vmax right now with H335. I notice online south of the border that everyone is recommending around 25 gr with bullet weights from 50-55.

Seems to me that this on the low end of the scale for h335. My Sierra book says I can go way higher than that. Is this because most guys are running through an AR with gas port issues at higher speeds? I usually try and find a node around the middle of the min/max. So far I have been trying in the 26-27 gr range of H335 with no luck.
