Why oh why did I not buy one of these back in 1992 when I had the chance?

$35000-$40000 is spendy. Have always thought the PSG1 was slick. Good performance even by current standards

I got try my buddies back in the day a quite few times. Undoubtedly top notch DMR back in the day and I'd be willing to bet it will still hold its own against the newer DM rifles currently being fielded.

While not still in production, I'm told, if sent back to HK they will still service the rifle

Heavier than I thought, but shot well enough.

Period correct scopes are fun though compared to modern features we take for granted.

It was so expensive that HK came out with a cheaper version (that still cost alot). I think Wolverine might have offered them back in the day.
I'm gonna have to see if there are any reviews on the cheaper version and see how it stands up

MSG90 Was more robust yet cheaper somehow. Moving down the line the G3-SG1 was also decent for the time.

YES! I'd give my left nut for a new (or near new) example. The PSG-1 just seemed way too conspicious and fancy (as in, "look at me, Im a sniper") for combat.

I believe in the US (PSG1) was more "marketed" towards LE. A vendor on HKPRO had a bunch of Italian "trade ins" they went from 20-40K US IIRC.
