Go to HK Pro forums (

Here is the bottom line, if you want a G36 stock then you have two choices. The deciding factor is if you want to "cut your reciever"
Option 1 - HDPS stock block
I can't bring myself to do that, so the choice is the HDPS stock block that ties the G36 pistol grip ( and fire control ) to the G36 stock to the SL8

The complaint about this setup is it puts the stock further back than a real G36 messing up the eye relief for a magnified optic. To help with this problem make sure you get a G36 "C" stock
For pistol grips there is a dizzying array of pistol grips. The one that you want is the FBI with the (0,1) - safe and fire. You can buy less expensive pistol grip with the ( 0,1,F ) and same with burst but you really don't want to be messing with a pistol grip that comes with a "catch "- HK nomenclature not mine. This is the part in a HK G36 lower that is tripped by the auto bolt carrier allowing auto fire.
When you get ( good luck ) export permits you don't want to be justifying pistol grip with the auto catch even though a G36 bolt will not fit easily in a SL-8
Option 2 -
T- Bostic etc - this requires cutting of reciever. I don't think these guys that offer these conversions will be too willing to deal with a Canadian.
I have not seen a HERA conversion in person. I guess a AR stock is better than a stock SL8. I prefer the G36 stock myself
Forends - KAC was an option but has since discontinued this item. The only "new in stock" versions are for the K ( carbine which is 1.5" shorter than the more desirable rifle length.
B&T - not certain if this fits a SL8 or not. Kinda pricy
Scope Mount - if you want to get rid of the carry handle setup for scopes you only have the KAC option. They are very hard to find new because KAC has discontinued this item
