h&k sl8 bipod installation

I had mine apart to attach a muzzle brake. Used a pair of pliers to pull out. Is held in by a spring setup.
Should be able to see in the manual.

I don't own my SL8 anymore, but the bolt comes out easily once you learn how to do it. There should be a small metal sprung plate in front of the bolt. Press down on it, and at the same time pull out the bolt.

Probably sounds pretty dumb, but I can't seem to figure out how to remove the eyebolt that will hold the bipod on my sl8.Anyone know the trick?
Thanks

No, it's not dumb. Many people have the same problem, but few actually ask.
Actually, this is not the first thread on this subject.

And then a big hammer to put it back in?

Just push the spring clip down with your thumb - the sling pin will then pull out by hand without difficulty.
