Hello to all H&K USP Expert and Elite owners. I have never owned a HK pistol but was reading some
reviews of these guns and many people seem to rave about them. Can any of my fellow CGN'ers
offer some opinions on the Expert or Elite models? Are they "old news" in the polymer pistol world,
or are they great HK "target" pistols? Just curious?:)

They are for experts and elites. If you are an expert and/or an elite they are for you. :p

Joking aside USP have very chunky grips. I believe the expert models have match triggers, don't remember off the top of my head if the elite does, the standard hk da/sa is really meh. Their match trigger is one of the cleanest factory da/sa triggers you will find.
Recoil wise USP are I would argue the softest shooting of polymer guns, and the mag release some love others hate, you have to try and decide for yourself. Reliability, it's a HK it will outlast you in all likelihood. Oh and the mags are very expensive.

Having owned both Expert in 9mm & .45 and an Elite in .45 I can attest to what r34skyline said. Both pistol have the match trigger. Again, fat chunky grips that makes the overall ergo suffer but pretty soft shooting pistols indeed. There are some more accurate pistols out there. HK goodies (mag funnels, mags, replacement parts) are a pain to come by and very expensive, that's why I got rid of them.

I've owned Experts in .45 and 9mm. The 9mm one was the most accurate 9mm pistol I've ever owned--it was a real pleasure to shoot. The .45 was good, too, but the 9mm was easier to shoot accurately. I've got small hands and the grip size didn't bother me.

The Elite just looks so darn odd. It makes me want one.

Which model is/was more popular, the Expert or Elite, and why?
I've never seen an Elite for sale, whereas there are Experts on the EE every few months or so. I don't know if the Experts are more popular because there are more of them or there are more of them because they're more popular. I personally don't care for the look of the Elite and prefer a barrel length on my semi-autos to be 5" (or so) at max the Expert is my preferred model.
