H & K Usp

Totally worth every penny. But I would go 9mm if your going .40 IMO

Anyway, I've fired one in .45 and 9mm, both were great. prefer the 9mm as the handle fits better with the slightly smaller diameter, but compared to a lot of other pistols in the same calibre (9mm) I was the most accurate with this one.

It is tough, accurate, ergonomic, and easy to use. I found the sights easiest to line up and the weight was really good too.

I shot one in 40 at CRAFM. Sweet pistol. It fit me real well, the trigger was nice, and it was really accurate. I shot it better than the G17 I also rented at CRAFM. I would go with 9mm as well if i were you. Cheaper to shoot than 40, and if you were ever to use it on someone or something, the 9 gives very little to the 40.

Looking to buy one in 40 S&W. Does anyone own one or know anything about them?
What specifically do you want to know? I have one in 9mm and it's a very nice pistol. Accurate, extremely well made and totally reliable. The only downsides are the DA trigger pull, which could use some improvement, and the somewhat brick-like shape of the grip handle (though you get used to that).

The reason I am opting for 40 is because I have seven 9mm pistols and only one 40. I am not looking for specifics just overall info. Sounds like a good pistol to add to my collection. How about price? What is good for this piece new?

I have a USP in 40SW. It is FANTASTIC! Accurate, reliable and easy to handle recoil. It is so much better than GLOCK that I ended up selling my G22because I rarely used it. Try getting a lightly used one for $800 ish. They're available from time to time on the EE.

The best

At P&D they go for 1025$ for a variant 1 and it doesnt say about the sight .

You should check it out before buying it. If you have a small hand, the USP is very blocky and it won't fit you.

The double action trigger is rather long and heavy - compared to the SIG.

I am right handed, but my preference is a Variant # 4, stainless slide with match trigger and Fibre Optic sights. I use the mags with the extended base plate, as it acts as a bumper pad/ to assist with seating the mag.

The Variant # 4 (a DA/SA--decocker only), lever is located on the right hand side of the pistol, and it decocks the pistol from SA to DA only,...it does not act as an external safety. I did this as it gets the lever out of my way. If I had the lever on the left side, my thumb would be resting on it, and may accidentally press it down, which would decock the pistol. H&K is getting away from this design of a lever on duty type pistols (except for the HK45), and for the new P30, and P30L, the DA/SA pistols have no external safety, only the decocking button now located at the rear of the frame, next to the hammer. Of course they also have the P2000 and its variants, as well as the P30 variants and USP variants available with the DAO L.E.M., basically a light DA similiar to the PARA LDA trigger. I have seen a USP Expert (long slide) in .40 with the LEM trigger reduced down to 3.5lbs!!
