H&R Canadian factory

I have examined an M4 in .22 Hornet that was marked H&R and Made in Canada. I have just bought a 12 guage single marked the same. Can anyone tell me more about H&R's history in Canada?

It was in Drummondville, Quebec and it has long since closed down. That is all I know about it.

I was doing some research on my M4 Survival rifle and there are pretty slim pickings regarding information out there. I contacted the Drummondville City Hall and one of their workers was kind enough to go to the local library and translate some newspaper articles about labour problems at the plant. I looks like strikes killed it. Specific information about the M4 is brutal to find. Have you attempted to contact H&R and see if they have any historical archives?

No I have not (I do not own that M4 by the way) but I did read that now that H&R is in fact simply a brand that Marlin owns (H&R 1874 more accurately) there is no support or information for the guns made by the original company.
