H&R firearms

i guess im lucky (or crazy) i originally had the .44 rem mag nef and have since found the following barrels to fit the receiver
.22, ,22-250, another .44 rem mag, 12 ga, 20 ga, 16ga, 410, 30-06
still looking for the 45-70 and 308 lol

The Buffalo Classic was a very good one.

I just picked one up last week. The only downside I see is the cost of 45-70 ammo. The trigger pull is nice 3.5 lbs. I think it's a nice looking rifle. I hope to get it to the range in the next couple of days.

I paid $100 bucks brand new for a H&R 44mag back in the 80s. I was buying some other stuff at the gun store and commented I would like to buy the rifle and he told me to put a 1 in front of the figure I was writing and it was mine. It is heavy and all but shoots good. The barrel has to be a inch and half thick and has a ram rod for some goofy reason.

I just dont see a market for these anymore. Sure, I would probably buy one, for the right price, but I'd buy anything for the right price...

There are just so many other options out there. Single shot shotguns are still very common, so that eliminates that market. Bolt action rifles are so cheap, that pretty much elimiates that market. The 45-70 Marlins are reasonably cheap, and thats certainly the direction I would look if I wanted a 45-70, because it would be my bear gun, and a single shot is not a good bear gun IMO.

I dunno, there is something ###y about a single shot, but if I was actually going out hunting I would generally prefer a repeater of some sort, so it would probably end up as a range/plinking toy unless it was in a caliber that I didn't have something comparable to (like if it was a 22-250, and I didn't have anything smaller than my 270)
