Anybody know anything about the value of an H&R Gamester.

This is the Post WWII bolt action 2 3/4" model. My research to date pegs its production between 1949 and 1955, collector interest at 0, and sales in the states range between $80US and $110US. I had a local dealer offer me $20 even though mine is still in good shape and doesn't even have a box of shells through it yet.

Anyway this one sits in the gun cabinet since I always default to my Browning for hunting and I need funds for a pistol project. Can anybody offer anymore insight?:)

I'm thinking this would be a good first shotgun for someone right out of hunter safety. Single Shot 20 gauges go for $120 here, this one at least holds three shells and is a 12ga.

with new shotguns so cheap, I would not pay more than $50 for a used bolt-action shotgun that deosn't take 3" shells and can;t shoot steel shot.

Also, that gun has a reputation for being... how shall I say this gently?... a lemon.
