H&R Pardner 12Ga (single shot), good idea?

If that's what feels good grab it with both hands, plus if it works for you you'll be able to buy a crate of shells for the price difference compared to some other guy's shotguns.

Or duct tape two together to make your own sxs. Would that even work? I kind of want to try now.

Normally a 12g break-action is perfect for shooting clays, however the single shot will significantly limit your ability to shoot skeet, sporting, doubles, etc.. For that reason I would pass on it and put the cash towards something else, depending on your budget you may look at a decent pump or semi.

I shoot trap with a H&R Pardner 32" Full choke, with the 1Oz handload I use it patterns closer to Extra-Full. Suprisingly the felt recoil is not bad compared to my Pardner 28" Modified choke, I suspect it's due to the 4" of barrel weight. If they fit you well, and trap singles is your game then I see no reason not to. They are well built for the money. Mine set my back a hair under $200 shipped to my door, pattern slightly over center(ideal for trap) and if I do my job will ink ball targets from the 16yrd line.
