H&R pardner pump walnut

I was doing some research on it
Check this forum on it
http://www.shotgunworld.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=120913

Long story short it's a replica of 870 that was made since patent of 870 design expird
And it's much cheaper with exact same quality
And story in forum tells tale that the quality of steel was actually broken down and tested and is the exact same quality

Id love to know where you ordered it as I need a first shotgun and might consider it!

i bought it from erie tracker outfitters in port colborne ont.
there supplyer has them i payed 300 for the gun and 40 in taxs total:$340 for the walnut one
(wood always costs more on guns)
they might ship you'd have to call and ask
from what i hear there made better than the 870(better steel)and there drilled and tapped for a scope mount

I have one in 20ga. Its a nice shotgun. Smooth operation and functions great with everything including the 100 walmart bulk packs (I haven't tried 3" in it). Its quite heavy and feels well made. Nice looking wood stock too. It may be made in the same plant as the norinco's, but having owned both, it definitely has a better fit and finish than the norinco shotguns that I've owned. I've read that it is a copy of the 870 but I've also read that the barrels do not interchange. Not sure if that's correct or not. The 20ga version only comes with 1 (modified) choke.

Wow I think I'll trade in my wingmaster I hope I don't have to pay to much difference all that craftsmanship for $260.00 who would have thunk it . That being said they are good guality but they are not on par with the new wingmaster .

I picked one up today in 20ga from a local dealer. paid $260 for it and bought a CYL choke for it, they use Invector chokes. I compared it to the 870 Express and there is not a whole lot of difference between the 2. The blueing on the H&R is rough and poorly done, the rib shows solder marks and it is nearly impossible to disassemble. It was so tight it damn well took me 1/2 hour to take it down.

The gun shoots well and even cycles the cheap winchester ammo without issue. The action was a little stiff at first, but by the end of my first round of skeet, it loosened off and was actually enjoyable to shoot.

The wood on it doesn't look half bad, the gun feels really heavy and has noticeably more recoil then I expected from a 20ga. Fitting is very tight and there is no wiggle from the forearm. Trigger is a little heavy. Receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounts. I wasn't expecting a whole lot from such a cheap gun, but was pleasantly surprised by the build quality, definitely a step up from the Norinco 870.
This would make a great Truck or bush gun, I dont think it will hold up to weekly skeet shooting but I'm gonna find out.
