Hi guys, once again hoping to get some gun-lovin-eyes over the Canadian market..

Did you see any sponsor/other selling an H&R Topper Single Shot 12 gauge ?

Also do you think the barrel can be removed easily for transporting purpose otherwise i think i will just get a norinco backpacker.
if possible.. would prefer stay with an H&R..

Need a single 12 gauge and a 44 magnum adapter.. already got a wingmaster 870 pump.

To remove the barrel, you must remove a large phillips screw from the forend, remove it, then the barrel pivots and comes off. Have you considered a Tamer instead? H&R(even under Remington ownership) has a lot better quality control than Norinco.

I do agree.. my father passed on to me a few firearms when he went to the other side.. a 16 gauge H&R Topper M48 was in the package.. old beaten to death and still working flawlessly.

also I saw the XCaliber guys shooting what appear to be a 12 gauge H&R with is calibers adapters. When i go the H&R website tho.. Tamer only comes in .410 and 20

You can make a QD knob for any H&R gun... They use a 1/4X20 thread. I buy 1/4X20 rods in 36" lengths and threaded knobs from MSC Industrial... I have made dozens and all of my swap barrel H&R's have them. The other benefit of this is that you can grind or file the thread shaft down until you achieve the right forearm tension when bottomed out in the lug... This allows you to return to the same tension after dismantling the gun... This is not so important with a shotgun, but with a rifle it helps to minimize POI shifting.

I have to admit that english is not my strongest language.. but i would definitly appreciate to see a picture of that QD knob on your H&R guns. I ordered a DA Backpacker but i can already see that i am going to find (hard time finding one) an H&R Topper ultimately and make it takedown-able just because i trust H&R more than DA.

If you happen to have a pic or thread on those knob.. i would really appreciate it.

Also my advice is don't waste any money on the Backpacker. The size is great, the quality is very poor. It is a novelty item not a firearm in my opinion.

thanks for the link TEG..

and to be franc, im fully aware its a novelty guns.. pretty much like my Rossi Ranch Hand.. not a rifle, not a pistol.. I like weird guns in my collection.

also.. the most important fact here: NO ONE sells H&R Toppers or Topper Deluxe in black finish like in my first post.. right now i am trying every gun store in the EAST of canada.. checked from Gaspesie to Moncton, NB and now Nova Scotia.. checking pawn shops and gun store.. while looking online in between.. must be discontinued and i may have to change my choice in 12 gauge single shot..

so having that much problem.. i ordered a backpacker. it wont replace my favorite wingmaster

but i do need a single shot 12 gauge shorty

well.. i bought both.. just added a H&R Pardner to the collection .. i can see 1 or 2 parts switching (forhand with removable screw) and a pipe cutter along the way to shorten the barrel. should have waited in getting the new DA backpacker if i am creating the same thing with an H&R

Nice looking collection Tom E ;)

I have to admit i am more impress with the quality of the H&R receiver.. but it also have something a little bit irritating.. the barrel release button on the H&R Pardner is making a little noise when moving/shaking the gun.. little bit annoying.. rattlesnake-ish..

Other than that, and the H&R is lighter in weight even with the longer barrel (did not mesure it, only in hand guesstimating). Still wondering if i have the need for those 2 or selling the backpacker.

also... as usual.. nice looking guns hoyt
