H&R Topper Trap

I've not used one, but there is a review here:

I think the gun might be a bit light for extensive use. At 7lbs. I think the recoil would eventually become tiresome.

Also, having used a borrowed H&R Topper in 17HMR to shoot gophers, my thumb was sore after using the loading button and cocking that hammer 250+ times in one afternoon.

That said, it's good to see some new dedicated entry-level trap guns coming onto the market. The more people we can encourage into the shooting sports the better :~)

I have not used the topper, but have used the pardner and it is not a treat in any way to shoot any amount. Truly a hunters gun for a couple shots in an afternoon and a gun to last a lifetime but not shoot constantly. But i to looked at this gun as it does pack on that extra weight and have a fair sized recoil pad. these guns i dont think are made for major amounts of fun but to get the job done when it needs done. h&r makes a solid quality product but I'll stick to something a bit heavier if shooting 12 ga forn sure

I've handled one and really liked it. Thought about it as a #### weather trap gun. Shoulder very nice had beautiful wood altho it lacked complete filling of the pours in the wood. Nice shape on the comb. Very thick soft recoil pad. Swung decent and open with very light pressure on the release lever. Trigger was surprisingly crisp and light. At half the price of a bt99 I think its a decent gun. For the casual trap shooter. I don't think it was designed for 1000s of rounds a year and I would bet ill never see one in a hi stakes tournament. But if one the one I played with was on sale ida bought it and think I'd be hjappy with it. For a hnr it was a very nice looking gun
