H&R Ultra Slug Hunter- Thoughts, Experience?

Probably among the most accurate slug guns out there.
It is heavy as hell, and I wouldn't be carrying it all day, but if your sitting it will serve you well.
The issue for me is that if I am sitting a stand within 50-75m I don't need a rifled slug gun and crazy expensive sabots.
I would take a smoothbore pump with sights instead, and I did.
I find it funny that the gun is so affordable but the ammo is so ridiculously priced.

Worthy every penny but get the 20 ga not the 12 ga. Better twist rate and an excellent shooter. Ideal for stand hunting. If you push the bush the gun is not for you as it is heavy. Quality is excellent and accuracy is outstanding. Trigger and bows was the only place I could my.

think of the grains a 1oz slug out of a 12 is 400 and change grains
the 20 is probably in the 300 area that is a big chunk of lead no problem take good shots and your golden

The 12 bore Ultra Slug Hunter I have puts full bore Slugs-R-Us projectiles onto beer cans
@ 100yds. with ease and does not kick the crap out of me to boot. 1.25 oz. @ 1100fps.
The first thing to do with one of these guns is to loosen the butt plate and remove the
almost 2lb. slug of steel from the inside of the stock. Now you have a big bore that you can
pack around without difficulty.
Put a good 4x scope on 'er with solid hold rings(Weaver) and get some shotshell loading
gear from Ballistics Products to be able to load up rounds best suited to your type of
shooting.
