Has anybody here ordered from H-S through the importers(canadian)? I am trying to figure out a normal amount of time. I have my three on order since Feb/March.

It was a couple years ago that I last did it, but I never had trouble ordering direct from HS Precision. That said, I appreciate that U.S. export restrictions seem to be in a constant state of flux these days, so perhaps that's no longer easily done. As it turns out, I'm in the market for a new stock, so I'll be calling them to find out if it's still possible to ship direct to Canada...

BTW -- even when I ordered from them direct, it always took 3-4 months before I would receive anything. They presumably have a pretty long queue of work orders...

We stock a few models but generally you are looking at 8 -10 weeks.

About 3 years back I ordered an HTR 2000 in .338 Lapua and waited a year and a half. I kept getting excuses from the importer who was very honest with me and eventually told me he was no longer able to help me, so he returned my deposit and suggested I go with a different manufacturer. So I did and bought a Sako TRG 42. Probably a blessing in disguise.

Just got off the phone with HS Precision -- and it seems they no longer ship direct to customers in Canada. All orders need to be placed through one of their Canadian distributors.

Ah, the good old days...

I was also in contact with Todd from H-S. The normal lead time is up to 16 weeks(sometimes sooner). There are only three importers for their stock line.

I am just having a bad experience time wise.

Hammer, i'm not sure what type of stock you want, nor what your price range is, but i would seriously give a tought about a Robertson stock.

He will custom build you one exactly the way YOU want, and I bet his turn around time will be shorter than 16 weeks. Also, he is a member here and he's Canadian.

Another stock maker that gets little attention but turns out a great product is Mr.Manners. He makes a nifty tactical thumbhole stock.

Hope this helps.
