H1000 7mm RM 162gr

I did 160’s and H1000 in a 24” bbl’d 7RM I had for a while.
Went beyond the published maximum load by a couple and a half grains to get 2970fps, accuracy was good, case head expansion was tolerable, case life was excellent. This was the best velocity I got with this bullet in this rifle, btw. 160 gr Accubond.

That’s after setting my dies for a slight shoulder bump, not a full set back crunch.

Copy that.

im a little at a confused state.... i started off with the 2213sc (4831sc) but it was not the right powder for speed, So i got onto the RE25 powder to try, found a reasonable load, but in the mean time found some Aussie ADI AR2217 (H1000) and thinking there is no gain between RE25 and H1000 for the 162gr and a 26 inch tube...

I looked up the ADI data and it lists a Max of 70gr for under 3000fps (24 inch tube) which sort of sits the same Powder weight as the RE25 stuff.

The craze is the Alliant was cheaper here per '500g'/1 lb , but now its fairly one way... So i would prefer to use the ADI i think, seeing as they are about equal.

Would one be expected to possibly give a better accuracy than the other? or thats totally unknown variables?

I tried H1000 once in my 7RM and found good velocity 3020fps but OK accuracy, if you can get some I went with Retumbo and everything got better. It's accuracy was .5" and velocity was 3075fps with 160gr accubonds, it likes to be loaded to max as the accuracy got better the more powder I used. I never had any problems loading this powder in my .257 bee either it was fantastic powder to load with. R22 worked well with my 7mm RM also.

My Steyr 7mm has a tight twist which prefers 150g bullets and H1000 has given me the best accuracy thus far; I have misplaced my reloading notebook (much to my dismay), but I stumbled upon the 65g of H1000 and Barnes TSX 150g load right away and every other powder and bullet type/weight I have tried hasn't returned the the same accuracy.

Here is a 4 shot group @ 100yds from my Steyr Prohunter

After reloading for a dozen or so 7MM Rem Mags, I’ve found the only way to know anything for sure is to do it and see.

Thats a fair call too mate.
it makes sense to keep goin til it says , as that was why the Seven RM was a thing back then, they flaunt high velocities which means higher powder charges period.. then the whole lawsuit thing came about..
