H4895

Small quantities of H4895 have been showing up on shelves recently, but it doesn't stay there long.

I bought 20 lbs of D4895 when Canada Ammo was selling it. It's not exactly the same as H but it scratches the same itches. If I had known what was coming I would have bought more.

The last jug I bought I didn't noticed the extreme mentioned until I got home. Just wanted to make sure it was the same powder
I don't use it for reduced loads. I use it in 308 and 458. Hoping to use it in 223 and 9.3x62 as well

I believe the extreme line of powders started in the 90's sometime, when ADI started producing those powders for Hodgdon.

If you didn't have extreme on your previous bottle, it was either quite old, IMR4895, or a non canister grade 4895. Not the same powder as the current one you took a picture of.

H4895 is an exceptional powder in .223. If a .223 won`t shoot with near max. load of H4895 and a quality 50 - 55 bullet then there is something wrong with the gun, optics, or the shooter. JMO with many .223s over the years. Now having said that, Benchmark shoots just as good, maybe better, is cheaper and available.

My 223 shoots amazing with varget but I'd like to be able to just buy 1 powder for everything. Or at least that's my goal
458wm loves the h4895

I have used H4895 in everything from .222 Rem. to .30-06. It is a very versatile powder. It also is one of the few powders that is recommended for reduced loads. It is my powder of choice in .223 with 50 - 55 bullets. Also performs great in .22-250, .243, 7mm-08 and .308. If I was relegated to only one powder it would most definitely be H4895. 25.0 -26.0 H4895 with quality 50-55 bullets produces 5 shot 1/4" groups for me with my .223 if I do my part.

H4895 has worked in everything I've tried it in. Hence why I'd like to stick with it
I'm trying to downsize and make room as my other hobbies are competing for space

H4895 is one of my favorite powders as well, because it is so versatile and very consistent.
It is my go to for my 308 match rifle, as well as my 9.3X72R drilling.
I have used in for my .223 in the past, but have a large amount of Varget as well, so keep that powder it for them.
It is also my main powder that I use in my .280 as well, although lately I have been messing with 4350.
4895 may not be perfect for everything I own and shoot, but it is far from imperfect!:)
