well I run the same rifle but two different ways depending on max range of shot

so if the match has a max range of 200 and under I run it as close to stock as I can



stock KAC SR15 JM comp and a Raptor charging handle a Aimpoint Micro t1 2 moa dot zeroed at 50 meters for me this is the fastest lightest way I can run my rifle .I plan on adding a 14" keymod rail when they get to Canada



if there are shots past 200 I run it like this same way but a 1/4 vortex in ADM mount with switchview lever and a Magul fixed MOE carbine stock for a wiggle free view threw the scope at 4 power( my eyes see the flex in none fixed stocks and drives me nuts)

I wish i would have got the capped version of this scope......I had some nice person dial my wind one full turn right at a match this summer but I saw the hits way left at close range and held off and did ok . I now tape my wind turret and check my zero stop before every stage




i still need to get some 45 offset sights( Christmas is coming wifey hint hint)

how do you run yours?

nice! I wanna try out the low mass gear ASAP
 
One big lesson l learned is... Lose weight.
For several years I used a variety of pretty much standard ARs...
All were 16" barrelled and about average weight.
then a few years ago after shooting a match with some waaaayyyy far targets I got the crazy idea that a 20" heavy barrelled rifle was the wsy to go.... And be sure it has a monolithic rail system for mounting anything and everything you could ever dream of.

Then I used such an rifle for a couple of seasons... thinking "this thing is one heavy b****."
My shooting buddies took to calling it the SAW (squad automatic weapon)
So... lesson learned and I went über light.

Beats going to the gym and lifting weights just to get the strength required to lug a 36" log through a COF.

pinstriping tape is great for this, super sticky and bright colours make it very noticable.
 
I went with a one rifle concept. JP with 18" med contour barrel and Elcan spectre 1-4. So far I couldn't be happier. I keep seeing other rifles I like but none that I think I would switch to.

Thanks, I picked it up from CRAFM a couple years ago. I figured instead of messin with a couple different AR's I'd just buy the best one I could afford and I've been real happy that I did. On a platform that's known for being constantly modified there isn't one thing I'd change on this.
