A friend and I fired our Milsurps today. He brought a 91/30 Mosin Nagant and a Lithgow SMLE sporter.
I had my ROF No. 5, C.G. M96 and my Winchester P14 Sporter.
Neither of us claim to be great open sights shooters, but we had a lot of fun and that's what it's all about.
What was the best shooter? Drum roll please...
My ROF No. 5! Who would have thought? I shot a 2" group at 80 yards with it. It was right on center but a little low.
My M96 and P14 both shot 3.5" groups.
I think the rifles are capable of more. This was the first time I shot either the M96 or the P14 and I was a little amped up. As always, my eyesight and skill are the limiting factor.
