I've been tring to decide on what to get myself for a while now. I heard about this site when I was in lever arms the other day, some guys were talking about it. I'm thinking about getting a shotgun first. I have gone duck hunting with friends and would probably just want it to take camping cause I go into remote areas and it's a good thing to have.

kball , welcome aboard . Buying your first gun kinda depends on what you want to do with it and your access to shooting locations . A shotgun would be a good choice and i'd recommend a 12 guage . You can buy cheap ammo for blasting and good stuff for hunting and between shot sizes and slugs you can hunt pretty much anything from mice to T-Rex . Don't know how you made it a year with a PAL and haven't bought a gun but once you buy one , you'll want 'em all .
Go get a .22 as soon as the store opens. By noon the next day your 'no gun' problem will be solved. Then you will have the 'explain to the wife why you need a bigger house' problem like most of the guys at CGN. Welcome aboard.

As per Canuckgunny's instructions, I concur.. Also, pick up two or three bricks of ammo. It'll set you back about $35 bucks and teach you more than any website forum can.
