i noticed your Type 99 rifle still has the bolt cover,..apparently i read that i these covers can be noisy when working the bolt rapidly,..most Japanese soldiers removed these bolt covers,..as they quickly gave away their positions in the close fighting in the jungle
They are quite noisy and rattle a fair bit. Mine also hangs up on this newer stock causing the bolt to become finicky if worked to slow. I took it off to shoot.
Thanks guys. I may try loading using 8mm brass, I already have a small pile for my Kar98 and I have a few hundred 150gr .312 FMJ bullets I use in my Mosins. The bulged cases indicate a sloppy chamber right?
Greats Pictures Artyman!! Very nice range setup as well( jealous lol )
Quick question thoughI notice there is a hole in the right side of the stock should this be there?? ( gas-port??) I noticed the type 38s don't have it and nether does mine ( type 38)
Thanks
Joe
