That's how mine is but I have seen case hardened examples. Had mine out Sunday for the first time and shot a round of trap with it. Doesn't fit me worth a damn but it was fun all the same. Lots of comments from my fellow trap shooters.
 
Lovely gun! I have one as well but it's nowhere near that nice. Mine doesn't fit me either, but I'm a crappy shotgunner so I like having a built-in excuse for my poor shooting. :)

By the way...snipe in there? I think you must mean woodcock?

Geez...it's getting to the point where trying to figure out what a post says with all the ###'s and censoring is almost as tough as deciphering a Kamlooky post! :)

I wonder if you could have gotten away with calling the bird a "woodie"...?
