Haeleum – Mossy Oak(R) Camo – Long Sleeve shirt

So I get this shirt in the mail and think “Just another camo (Mossy Oak®) shirt. And at first glance it is just that. Get it out and try it on and I notice a couple things off the bat. First being that it felt nice against the skin and for something that claims to have insect repellent (Insect Shield Technology®) I couldn’t smell anything. Now having lived in Eastern Ontario all my life I would like to think I know a thing or two about the wonderful smell of bug juice. Now being the fall not much in the way of mosquitoes around, but of much great concern are the massive number of ticks seen in the last couple of years.

So armed with my new shirt and a list of things to do outside (Sadly none being hunting or even hunting related) I head out. A mild day at 12C and with some swings of the axe and running a chain saw I was concerned about overheating. To my surprise I was getting cold. The sweat being able to wick away and my skin keeping relatively dry. This was a pleasant surprise as I normally struggle to find a comfortable base layer.

Walking through the tall brush Ticks are always a concern (having known a couple people that have gotten Lyme disease). At the end of the day pulled a couple of the blood suckers from my pants but non from my upper body at all. So although this is not hard scientific proof or method this testing, and results speak for themselves. Shirt 1 Ticks 0 .

I do believe I have now found my new base layer for the upcoming deer hunt. At under $40 you really cannot go wrong. I am looking forward for spring turkey to put it to a much greater test of its Insect Shield Technology®

Sounds interesting. I have never heard of Insect Shield Technology, or Haeleum before. These sounds good for fishing and (as you mentioned) spring turkey.
