It's a German-made piston AR from the company that invented the assault rifle (StG 44):

Have these ever been available for sale in Canada?

Interesting rifle, looks nice but definitely looks like a clone of an HK416. So much so, that I wonder if HK might try and sue them, or if it's built under license? (I know HK has had, and may still have very strong patents on their piston design) as well as the firing pin safety in the bolt carrier...

Nice looking rifle though! I just wish Europe would keep up with the fads, a longer keymod or M-Lok handguard would look much nicer on that thing (or I suppose if a Geissele handgaurd may work if it's close enough to the HK handguard?)

Haenel was owned by HK for a few years in the past decade, so there may be some licensing agreement in place.

Why don't they make a semi-auto StG 44 for the commercial market? That would be different instead of another AR.
