Hammer bullets

At $1.50 each cdn I couldn't afford to do load development with them, but on the flip side, shipping from ontario was pretty reasonable

I have looked at them for my 6.5 PRC but wasn't able to get my hands on any. So for now I am going t do load development on some Barnes 127gr LRX and Berger 156 EOL.

If you happen to get some let me know I am a big fan of monolithic bullets.

I've heard good and bad about these bullets, you know, they expand like the Barnes bullets, or want to to expand...............witnessed reviews on You Tube.

Ron Spomer swears by them! The only thing he uses he says! I guess it is like any other bullets, they are not magic and certainly have there limitations! But if they are readily available then I’m sure they are no worst than other mono out there! Almost impossible to find TSX/TTSX and lots of others are not easily available either like lapua and Norma… I don’t know if noslers are any good?
I I like the idea behind the hammers but would they be reliable at lower velocity, like below 1800fps?

I am using the 124 gr Hammer hunters in my 6.5 PRC. Developed a load that is shooting awesome. I didn't actually measure my group at 650 yrds, but it is sitting 6" or less. I'm at .306" at 100 yrds.

Shooting on cci 250, N568 in nosler brass. They seem to like a crimp as well, and the groups have tightened up with it.

I have not shot at any game yet, as it is a new bullet for me.

All the reading I have done on them shows they like a faster push, so using the 124 gr lighter bullet, and pushing them to the upper limit of case. I am running a 1-8 twist, so the heavier bullets are rated for faster twist.
Pretty compressed load now at 60.5 grains powder. No chrony, so can't comment on actual speed, but I know they are up there just below max pressure. I know, I know, I need to get one, but other things are more pressing, and when I'm able to shoot tight groups at case max, and under max pressure, is a chrony really going to help me tighten the group up at this point?

Having good results with the Barnes LRX 140 gr in the 7mm-08, so sticking with those for now. Again, no real field experience with them, as they are a new bullet for me here as well.
