View attachment 557778Hello
I just installed a timney impact and the hammer isn’t hitting the firing pin.
It appears to be about 1/16 away from the firing pin.

The hammer do not travel forward enough to make contact with th firing pin.
I’m not sure if it’s because of the design of the hammer or if it’s because it’s stopping short when it brings up in the lower wall.
The only thing I can see to do is remove some matarial from the bottom of the hammer, so that it can protrude more past that wall?

Any ideas why.View attachment 557491

Can someone maybe post a picture of their hammer in the fired position?
With the lower removed.

It would be appreciated greatly.

Have you taken the part out you just put in and trying it again ? never owned one of those myself . but if I'm not mistaken that hammer should be straight op and down while forward.

Yes I have.
Them EE is straight up.
The hammer is shaped as such that the top half is protruding out a small bit.
So when the trigger is pulled, the bottom part of the Hammer hits the wall, where the bolt release is retained.
The top half goes just past the wall and hits the firing pin.

I’m my case, the hammer stops just short of hitting the firing pin.

Only things I can think of would be,
To either add matarial to the top half of the Hammer , so that it makes enough contact with the firing pin.
Or remove matarial from the bottom half of the hammer,so that it can travel further ahead and make contact with the firing pin.
Or add matarial to the back of the firing pin ,so that the hammer can make contact.

As it sits now, the hammer is about 1/16 of an inch away from the firing pin.
So it would need to travel a 1/16 to touch the back of the firing pin, plus a bit more to have enough force to move the firing pin ahead enough, to have enough force to set off the primer.

Another thought… lol
Is it possible that the firing pin is not far enough back?
Maybe a short spring?

Have you put the stock one back in to compare?
I bought the gun off the EE and it didn’t have a trigger.
I’m pretty sure it’s the Timney impact AR trigger that’s at fault.

I can add some matarial to the back of the firing pin, that should work until I get another trigger.
Thanks
