I was checking out my newest purchase for Turkey Hunt ( 16 gauge shotgun)

I went to pull the hammer back and holy moly!! I had to use all my strength!!

Dumbdawg suggested to just keep working it... and add a bit of oil .. I did , I have been... but it is still really hard to pull back!

Any suggestions?

What kind off shottie is it Mommabear?

I have played with several single shot variations of the Baikal, Remington, CIL etc and all of them were hard to ####. Sorry to say we never found a way around it. I don't think a hammer spur would fit as they really lay flat in the cocked position.

Perhaps Dumbdawg is being sneaky and is just getting you thumb limbered up for spring!

Get dumbdawg to work it for you untill it is loose, as you know men are good at cocking and uncocking.

Off the top of my head I cannot remember what it was called. It's locked in the cabinet right now and I've had a few brewskies.. so thats where she will be staying for the night.

I'll let ya know tomorrow ... ( and DD better not be sneaky with me.. or...) :D

Thanks Noel. Talk to ya tomorrow ;)

Maybe DD can come up with a few finger exercises for you to strengthen up you hands;)

Failing that, make HIM work it in, thats what he's for (at least so my wife tells me when there's heavy lifting to be done.... )
