Does anyone know a vendor that carries this spring? I'm getting some light strikes so want to replace it.
I tried Brownells but they sent the wrong spring and don't want to pay shipping again.
Thanks!

I was hoping for a canadian store, I don't get south very often.
If you give me your mailing address, I'll send you a new one. It's for a .45ACP 1911, but I'm assuming the hammer springs are the same. - a primer's a primer, right ? - F@W

While your offer is generous it should be noted that hammer springs come in different weights anywhere from about 17 to 25 pounds with 23 pounds being the usual factory weight so it might be a good idea to try & check what weight yours is.

Did not know that. Knew that the slide recoil springs came in different weights - thought the hammer springs would all be the same. Maybe not all primers are "created equal" ?
Also - no idea how to determine the weight of the spring. I know it's hard as h_ _ _ to stuff it into the MS housing.

If it's a stock one it should be 23lbs (for 45acp anyway)...not sure if mine's saged out or if someone put in a lighter one before I bought it.
That is real nice of you fire@will, thanks! I'll PM you.

I worked on a fellow's 1911 in 9mm that was getting light strikes and F toFeed, it had a match ( tight ) chamber and his reloads where not seating properly which can give light hits as the cartridge will move ahead in the chamber.
so just something to check with reloads, not a problem with most factory ammo, other then Chinese crap.
Also check your firing pin .

I haven't had feed failures, but light strikes on both factory and reloads.
Firing pin's a possibility. I'll try the spring first, it even feels light if you manually c-ock it.

Fire@will was nice enough to send me one. Hopefully it solves the problem. If not I'll try some of the places named, thanks.
