Hammer Spur question for BLR

Hi Guys and gals,

I have a buddy with an older Browning BLR in .308 and he says it's from 1976. He want's to replace the hammer spur on it and can get the one's from Brownell's or SIR for the newer model BLR. May be a dumb one but does the new fit the old? I'm not a Browning guy so I thought I would ask maybe they changed the hammer in some way over the years....

I recently put a hammer extension on an older BLR and had to file the inside of the extension to open it up for the wider hammer. After that, tighten the set screw and all ready to go.

Try an Uncle Mikes Hammer Extension for the older Model BLR's # 2457-0
(This one does not fit '92 & later BLR's.)

Your local dealer will likely have to order it in.
