Hammond Game Getter

I'm biased, as Brian is a friend of mine for some years now.

I use one of his .308 units when deer hunting. I usually have a small plastic container with a dozen power loads and a dozen sized buckshot, along for the ride when I am hunting. A little wadded up plastic bag, or toilet paper, keeps it from rattling.

I use the green power loads, because I have a bunch of them still. Brian insists that they are overpowered and noisier than required. I'll get around to buying some lower power loads eventually. :D

Yeah. Happy user. Not the be-all to end all, but a pretty handy way to pop a grouse or two as a side benefit to the walk in the woods, without playing heck with your hearing or using a full power rifle round.

Thanks for the replies. They do sound like a good idea. I like the fact that they would be fairly quiet. Like trevy said,

It is a bit of a pain loading when flock shooting chickens.Easier to load cast pistol bullets in rifle cases less juggling......Harold

Yeah. Fast reloads are not one of the predominant features of the Game Getter.

But I can afford to not get all of them. They will still be around next time I pass through.

I've been looking at loading some cast for weeny loads for grouse and rabbits, but have not got motivated enough to get around to it yet. Maybe this winter...:)
